Breaking News: Gerry the fresno based caravanista with the pastors for peace cuba humanitarian aid caravan: the border crossing today went "amazingly smoothly, the easiest border crossing we've ever had," at least while he's been involved.

 

buses and caravanistas are now in reynosa, it's 12:10 pm there, all the vehicles and people have cleared. they did a different border crossing this year from previous years, vehicles only went on the road and everyone else walked across. us authorities checked the vehicles, took six computers, the caravanistas get those on the way back and walk those across to their mexican friends who can forward them to cuba.

gerry and others are now on a bus waiting to go to tampico, usually they stay the night in reynosa but this year they're on the road early. they don't know if they'll have a police escort or not.

pastors for peace did a lot of advance negotiation which helped facilitate this easy crossing.
