Al Jazeera's Number One Resigns, Replaced with Qatari Royal
written by Ramzy Baroud

Wadah Khanfar, Head of Al Jazeera Resigns
by Ramzy Baroud
Wadah Khanfar, head of Aljazeera resigned. Some link his resignation to a Wikileaks document that claims he censored some content following US pressure.

I wish not to comment on this, but to state (based on meeting Wadah and working for Aljazeera for nearly 2 years) that he has done Arab media a great service; he was a capable journalist, and a proficient media manger.

The types of daily pressures that he had to cope with were simply incredible. He persevered, and for 8 years, this Palestinian man was at the helm of a media revolution that changed the face of media, not only in the Middle East, but the world over.

[The Guardian reports on Wadah Khanfar's resignation below.]
