Growth is good, right? We expect our kids to grow strong; our farm crops, forests, and fish stocks all to grow and prosper. It now however seems, we can't always connect growth and prosperity; and that contradiction is becoming more evident every day. But, before we overreact, and throw the babies out with the "growth equals prosperity" bath water, perhaps there is a way to grow, live long, and prosper. Strong Towns is a growing movement in America, a model for growth that believes the country's towns can become both financially strong and resilient, while providing an example of good, and accountable, economic growth.

And; it's been more than a year and half since the unprecedented 7.0 magnitude earthquake devastated Haiti, the Caribbean island nation already the poorest in the western hemisphere. Since then, it's been one disaster after the next for the Haitians; not the least of those being the cholera epidemic brought to the country by UN soldiers. Roger Annis is a coordinator with the Canada Haiti Action Network, and he's just returned from a fact finding delegation mission to Haiti.
