Nowhere is the economic corner America has painted herself into more starkly portrayed than in the Capitol. At the center of the Empire, life is good for plugged in lobbyists and State functionaries, but across D.C.'s Anacostia River, where the people who don't move on with Washington's shifting tides of political fortune, but live for better or worse, from cradle to grave, things are dire.
