Important public meeting coming up that will
help determine the future of this community and our Island - a request
below for people to attend the public hearing on the Envronmental Assessment of
the Raven Underground Coal Project. Several dates available, see bulletin below
or attached.
Many thanks for helping.
ps Dr. Mercola just reported on a scientific
study that demonstrated it is the mercury from burning coal that, in
salt water, converts from a less harmful organic form to another that is vastly
more lethal when ingested. Like we need more coal problems in the
world!
cheers, Gaylene

PUBLIC MEETINGS re RAVEN UNDERGROUND
COAL ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT PROCESS
6:00
– 10:00 p.m. Presentations by BC Environmental
Assessment Office, Canada Environmental Assessment Agency, and Compliance Coal
Corporation (Raven Coal) plus question
and answer period.
I'm writing to personally
ask you to attend at least one of the public meetings related to the
environmental assessment of the RAVEN UNDERGROUND COAL PROJECT. Please
mark the dates on your calendar. (See announcement below and
attached.) We need a massive turnout to impress upon the government that
people on this Island and in this Valley are concerned about the potential
impacts of this proposed mine.
I'm also asking you to do
as I am doing - that is, take a few minutes to send this message to at least five people in your
personal address book who live on Vancouver Island - friends, relatives,
colleagues encouraging them to attend at least one of the meetings and to invite
others to do so. Thanks for considering and hopefully acting on these
requests!

the announcement. The Bulletin is copied below and also
