This Week on GR
by C. L. Cook
This week: Jon Elmer is a Canadian freelance journalist who lives in, and reports
from Occupied Palestine. He has, over the nearly last decade contributed
dozens of reports to this program in an effort to bring a greater
understanding of the issues in Palestine to Canadians, and has filed
innumerable reports to the InterPress Service, al Jazeera, and other
international news services, as well as hosting his own site,
JonElmer.com.
Listen. Hear.
Jom Elmer in the first half.
And; over the weekend, famed Democracy Now journalist, Amy Goodman paid a
visit to the Salt Spring Forum just across the water from Victoria on
Salt Spring Island. She spoke at length to a packed house, detailing her
experiences last year at Canada's border, and a host of other issues of
both current and personal affairs.

And; Victoria Street Newz publisher and CFUV broadcaster, Janine

Palestine in turbulent times.

As the world's media attention is hijacked by the Obama bin Laden assassination, Israel is upping its military campaign against the captive civilian population of prison-camp Palestine. Despite, or perhaps because of, recent moves towards unity between rival political factions Hamas and Fatah in Palestine, and the growing clamor from South America, and now the recently reconstituted Egypt, for international recognition of Palestine as a legitimate political entity, Israel continues to indiscriminately bomb Gaza and accelerate the land dispossession program in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
