This past week wildfires, apparently sparked by careless campers, raged in Israel. In knee-jerk fashion, initial reports blamed Palestinians, possibly prisoners being transported from a nearby prison. The fires point up another vulnerablilty of the Jewish state; not only did Israel not possess the necessary fire-fighting equipment to put out the forest fires, but in its time of need, impotent, the world's fourth largest military state called out to those neighbours it has, by turn, insulted, brutalized, annexed, and occupied.

And; before 9/11, 2001 U.S. intelligence agents were convinced of an impending attack against American targets, possibly using aircraft, and quite likely targets would include the World Trade Center. Those warnings were not heeded, with results that literally changed the world.

 

Susan Lindauer was an American intelligence asset from 1996 right up until the day "that changed everything." In the days and weeks following 9/11, she witnessed her government and the press excoriate the "intelligence community" for its failure to protect the homeland, and ridicule hers and her colleague's service to the nation. Outraged, she demanded her side of the story be told, applying to be included in Congressional Hearings, only to find herself to be the first non-Arab American arrested and imprisoned under the newly-enacted PATRIOT Act. Susan Lindauer is out now, and as determined as ever that her story be told. She is the author of the book, Extreme Prejudice: The Terrifying Story of the Patriot Act and the Cover Ups of 9/11 and Iraq.'
