A Dozen Haitian Presidential Candidates
Call for 2010 Election Cancellation
by C. L. Cook
There are tweets out of Haiti's election day 2010 that 12 of the 18 Haitian candidates are calling foul, and charging the election process is fraudulent.

Candidates from Charles H. Baker to Yvon Neptune enjoined ten other losing hopefuls holding a press conference at the Karibe Convention Center claiming massive irregularities.

"Mirlande Manigat, presidential candidate, declared emphatically, "I request the formal CANCELLATION of all electoral activities throughout the territory, what is happening now it's brigandage organized [...] Some State institutions are complicit in this brigandage" "

Adding: "Tension mounts in Les Cayes amid panic in the population, in Marcelin, where supporters of INITE continue their electoral campaign, carrying photos of the candidate in hand, encouraging people to vote for INITE (Jude Célestin)."

The Institute for Justice and Democracy, IDJH.org is following the elections in Haiti on Twitter here.
