ONE PALESTINIAN WOMAN & ONE MILLION TREES

 Razan Zuayter is the president and founder of The Arab Group for the Protection of Nature (APN).
Ms. Zuayter initiated the "One Million Tree Campaign" which successfully
raised the funds to replace the one million trees destroyed by Israelis
in Palestine before 2008.
Trees are still being destroyed.

APN is working on its "Second Million Tree Campaign." APN's mandate is the protection of the environment & the natural resources in Arab countries against all hazards including the destructive impacts of wars & foreign occupations.

An exiled Palestinian who cannot return to her homeland, Razan Zuayter
speaks at international conferences on the issues of conflict, food
security, environmental destruction and militarization. APN is based in
Amman and works with groups inside the West Bank and Gaza. Ms. Zuayter
speaks with knowledge, passion and commitment on these issues which
connect peace, the environment and human rights. She comes to Victoria
after speaking at a Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions conference in
Montreal.
Our Objectives
* Contribute to the rehabilitation and sustainability of the natural resources in the Arab region which suffer from wars and armed conflicts, specially in Jordan and Palestine.
* Influencing in drafting and implementing of related global environmental policies, and enhancing the role of civil society organizations through effective partnership.
* Mobilize the efforts of civil society in order to contribute and respond to the needs of Arab and global environment.
* Building the capacity of the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature in order to achieve its' mission with high professionalism, effectiveness and institutional sustainability.
