Since 2009, Marcel Coutu, President and Chief Executive Officer, Canadian Oil Sands Ltd. and Chairman of the Board of Syncrude Canada, has traveled the country sharing with Canadians his candid view of the oil sands industry from inside one of Canada’s largest operations.

The Vancouver Board of Trade is pleased to present industry leader Marcel Coutu for an open and honest discussion about Canada’s oil sands.  Coutu is well positioned to offer insight into the recent developments in the industry, economic impacts for Canada and B.C., and the continual improvements the industry is making on their environmental performance. Join us for a frank and honest dialogue, that will openly address the issues facing operators and the opportunities the oil sands provide for business and industry in B.C.

Coutu has more than 25 years of experience in the resource and energy sector, primarily focused in corporate finance. Prior to joining Canadian Oil Sands as President and Chief Executive Officer in 2001, Coutu was Chief Financial Officer of Gulf Canada
