Rabbit Injunction Delayed Until Friday
Groups Establish Advocacy Fund

University seeks to overturn injunction that halted campus rabbit cull

A coalition of rabbit advocacy groups have set up an account at Vancity Credit Union branch 10 in Vancouver, BC, account number is 588152. The name of the account is Action for UVic Rabbits.

Groups hope to raise enough money to help pay a lawyer, court fees and other costs associated with the injunction. Time is short and  there are serious concerns for the fate of the rabbits if the injunction is overturned, as coalition members are still awaiting Ministry of Environment permits for some of the rabbit sanctuaries.

UVic has threatened to resume killing the rabbits despite the fact that collective efforts have amassed over $90,000 for spay/neuter and sanctuary establishment, and homes have been secured for all the rabbits.

It is extremely important to have professional legal counsel to improve our chances.

Concerned citizens came out to court today to support the injunction, including a group which came all the way from Victoria out of concern for the rabbits.
