Though rarely reported in Canada's corporate and state media, Israel daily mounts house raids in the West Bank, even as marauding "settlers" practice terrorism with impunity against populations of non-Jews they would happily see dead or departed from their homes. Also left on the news cutting room floor are stories of Israel Defense Force air and artillery attacks against the Gaza Strip.
You may remember Gaza, the place where a 22 day full-scale modern military assault killed as many as 1500 Palestinians, the vast majority civilians, and where today, more than 20 months later, humanitarian and building supplies needed to repair and restore the thousands of homes and businesses destroyed by Israel's invasion are denied the walled and guarded prison enclave.
 Gaza, you may also recall is the destination of the Freedom Flotilla attacked by Israel's navy on May 31st of this year, resulting in the execution by Israeli commandos of nine peace activists aboard one of the ships, the Mavi Marmara. It is clear in August of 2010, the Israeli government is impervious to the calls of the world that it cease its too long abided oppression of the Palestinian people and restore to them some remnant of their stolen homeland. And then there's Lebanon, Syria, and Iran.
