"Hey F*ckhead!" - Toronto Police Show Their Class
written by The Real News
I WAS NOWHERE NEAR THE "RED ZONE"
by TRNN
[Testimony of]: NEIL S.: On Sunday in Toronto, I was walking to College Station from Jarvis. So I was on Carlton, nowhere near the yellow zone or the red zone or any other zone. I got about halfway down the block to the subway station, and there was a group of cops on the other side of the road. The lead cop said, "Hey, fuckhead, over here."

I immediately put my hands in the air and said, "I'm not doing anything. I'm not even protesting peacefully. You know, I'm doing nothing. I'm going home."

And he said, "Well, I guess we'll find out about that. We don't know that yet."

Testimony from the G20-Reports from witnesses and subjects of police actions

So they took me around to the side of the car. I was surrounded by cops.

They immediately started going through my bag. They put their hands in my pockets, pulled out my cell phone, started going to my cell phone.

They took my ID, ran background checks.

I didn't know this at the time, but they stole my voice recorder out of my backpack.

And they asked me what I was doing out, and I just said I was just downtown checking out the destruction like hundreds of other people.

And the cop asked me if that sort of thing turned me on. I don't know why. He just decided to be inappropriate. But I guess he started off our conversation inappropriately.

They asked me if I've ever been arrested or if I was arrested yesterday. I said no, I was at home peacefully watching everything on TV. I've never been detained, I've never been arrested, I've never even been in the drunk tank, and I don't know what's going on right now; I've done nothing to deserve this. Once they got the background check clear that I'm not a criminal, they let me go.
