Canadian Forces Lose 144th
in Afghanistan [* Updated5/14/10]

Private Kevin McKay of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry was killed today by an improvised explosive device (IED) outside the small town of Nakhonay, Kandahar.

the 1st Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, based in
Edmonton, was killed during a night patrol Thursday. He was born in
Richmond Hill, Ont. (Canadian Forces/Reuters)
The Globe and Mail reports, further details surrounding McKay's death are yet to be released by Canadian Forces (CF).
McKay is reported to have been scheduled to return to Canada at week's end.
144 CF personnel, two aid workers, a journalist, and one Canadian diplomat have lost their lives in Afghanistan since 2001.
