The much anticipated 2010 Corporate Golden Piggy Awards ceremony is set for April 11th at the St. Ann's Academy Auditorium at Humboldt and Blanshard Streets in Victoria. The show starts at 2:00 PM.
"This is Canada's premier pig roast of the corporate swine and their excesses," says Art Farquharson, Producer.
"No one in Canada has the same sense of the rich and famous as Victoria's elite group of thespians. We've kept our nose in the trough since 1998 rooting out the morsels, raising our snouts, squealing with delight and giving a loud porcine howl. No one in the upper 5% of income earners is safe from our outlandish skewering."
Awards this year include "Pigs in Sweaters", "Water Hogs", "Home Sweet Sty" and "Pig in a Poke". Breaking from tradition a new non-elite nominee has surfaced.
Mr and Ms. Canada Incorporated is nominated in the "Home Sweet Sty" category for its misguided aspirations of joining the ruling class through real estate speculation. Music will include pearls from Piggy Award veterans like RabbleBerries, Art Farquharson, Bryan Skinner and Miss Piggy as well as some new talent in the barn.
Admission to the Awards show is by donation. Get there early to get a good seat at the trough.
Members of the press are requested to call ahead for seats to be reserved.
