This week on GR; Derrick O'Keefe is a Canadian writer and activist, and he's the editor of the progressive news web site, rabble.ca. He co-wrote A Woman Among Warlords with Joya, and joins us here in the first half.

Jon Elmer is a Vancouver-based photojournalist and writer who has lived in and reported from Palestine. He is the creator of the websites, From Occupied Palestine.org and Jon Elmer.ca. Jon appeared earlier this year with a series of reports from Egypt and Palestine, and he'll be here in the second half from Amman, Jordan.

The bravest woman in Afghanistan is what Malalai Joya, the first female member of that county's national legislature, (and the first woman to be kicked out of the same body) is called in many quarters.
