Another Canadian Soldier Killed in Afghanistan
by C. L. Cook
Another Canadian died today in Afghanistan. Canadian state broadcaster, the CBC is reporting today, Sapper Steven Marshall was killed when he stepped on a land man during a foot patrol in the Panjwai district of Kandahar province.

Sapper Steven Marshall, 24, was killed while on foot patrol in Panjwai district in Kandahar province. (DND)

He is the second Canadian killed in that manner there this week, and the 133rd Canadian soldier killed in Afghanistan since the Canadian Forces (CF) signed onto the occupying mission there in 2002.

There are no other Canadian casualties reported.

Canadian Brigadier-General Jonathan Vance is quoted by the CBC saying;

"Having arrived in the theatre of operations less than a week ago, he was eager to get out and begin making a difference."

Marshall was attached to the 1st Battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry Battle Group.

Lt. Justin Garrett Boyes, 26, was killed near the spot Marshall died last Wednesday.

Just another pointless death in another imperialistic war. My sympathies are with his family.
