THE REAL DEFICIT STORY

Gordon Campbell, working on behalf of the corrupt elite who run this country has deliberately created this 'deficit'. And now he is using the deficit as the excuse for the next step in The Corporate Plan, another attack on health care, and public education, and children, and the arts and on the poorest and weakest among us, and giving of more of our wealth to the richest among us... who own the Politicians AND the Media.

 

 

With government no longer working for 'the people,' we can expect this Corporate Attack to continue and to intensify.
 
They are deliberately creating homelessness. They are destroying public health care so they can privatize it. They are destroying the planet in order to 'maximize their profit.'

And with their "free trade deals" they have moved our economy to China.
 
HOW THE DEFICIT WAS CREATED

It's simple: Gordon Campbell has reduced the public's share of the economic pie and he is giving that money that used to be spent on 'the public good'to his wealthy masters.
 
In 2001, the public's share of the provincial economy was 22.9%. This year, the public's share is down to 19.6%. In a $200 Billion economy, this loss of 3% means that the public's share of the pie has been cut by $6 Billion in this year alone.

This represents about $1500 per person in BC removed from the public sector.

So when the Corporate Media keeps telling us the government is "taking more" it is clearly a lie; It is the corporations taking more

This 'deficit' has been created with tax cuts, with the biggest cuts going to the richest people and their corporations.


THE TAX CUTS

1.  In 2001, Mr. Campbell brought in big tax cuts.

In the first year of those cuts, he gave the top 0.4% of income earners $190 Million in tax cuts. Meanwhile, the bottom 49% of income earners got only $180 Million.

This means that Mr. Campbell's tax cuts gave someone at the top 100 times more than people at the bottom.

THIS IS THE PLAN

The Elites call the shots, their Politicians do it for them, and their Media lies about what is going on.

CORPORATE TAXES

Since 2001, Mr. Campbell has reduced Corporate income taxes by a full one-third, from a rate of 16.5% down to a rate of 11%. And Corporations pay taxes ONLY on their PROFITS.

 
REMEMBER THE REAL PROBLEMS

1.  The Corporations have stolen our democracy from us.

2.  We don't have a free press.

3.  Mr. Campbell's deficit has been deliberately created and there is no need for it.

4.  The cuts are unnecessary.

5.  The people at the top are taking too much, and they intend to take even more.

 
 

POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS

1.  We need more democracy, so that what the public wants actually means something.

2.  And we need a free press.

Both of these things are possible, but we are really going to have to fight for them, because the people who run the country clearly have no intention of sharing their power with the rest of us. And judging by their record, if we don't get our country back soon they will destroy everything.
