With the enacting of Bill C-23, Stephen Harper's government hopes to strengthen Canada's trade ties with Colombia. The move is not opposed by the official opposition, Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff saying "engagement" with South America's most brutal regime is more important than something as trifling as the moral rectitude of the country. Though thousands of unionists, social workers, peasants, and any others that bar the way to dictator "president" Uribe's self-aggrandizement are routinely wiped out or thrown into hell-hole prisons, rather than stand on our supposed principles, the latter day Neville Chanberlains leading both main parties would do deals with the beast in the name of business first and last.

And; how does a civilization drown in its own crapulence? It begins with ignorance. Like Rome's doomed denizens, dumbed down by bread, circuses, and lead plumbing, the populations of the nations making up western civilization today are kept in the dark regarding the disastrous fate our societal paradigm necessitates. This is in no small part due to the sequestering of mass communications into the hands of a few massive corporations, and the venal liars they control at the highest levels of State media.
