Welcome to Pacific Wild

Pacific Wild is dedicated to protecting Canada's Great Bear Rainforest.  Learn more about Pacific Wild LIVE, our remote camera project documenting the natural history of the rainforest.  Explore our Pacific Wild LIVE Field Cameras.

We currently have a camera recording a sandhill crane pair nesting in the Great Bear Rainforest.  These cranes can be extremely wary of humans during the breeding season.  With a remote camera near the nest site, we can observe their nesting behaviour, bog habitat use and interactions with other species without disturbance.

Below see our most recent wildlife footage of a sandhill crane gently turning its eggs on a misty morning in the Great Bear Rainforest.  The eggs are due to hatch any day.
