With less than 24 hours to go before British Columbians are presented with the opportunity to end the eight year reign of error led by Gordon Campbell, today a few reminders for the undecided, especially among those tempted to swallow the so-called environmental propaganda that would turf the NDP in a fit of pique over Carole James' promise to scrap the Liberal's so-called "Carbon Tax."
Incredibly, there is among those perporting to carry the "green" banner, a movement to undermine the leadership of the NDP, making of this election a kind of "loss leader" for an imagined rising of the B.C. Green Party in the 2013, or 14 elections. How much environmental damage an unfettered Liberal could wreck on the province in the meantime is apparently of little concern to the ecological Machiavelli's behind the plot to conflate the reversal of Campbell's fig leaf environmentalism.
Damien Gillis is with the Save Our Rivers Society, a rag tag group of citizen activists rallying across British Columbia to make voters aware of just what they may engender should Gordon Campbell's Liberals have their way with B.C.'s rivers. Damien Gillis in the first half.
And; last week on this program, Green Party of Canada leader, Elizabeth May charged Iran was, or could be, supplying Depleted Uranium weapons to Palestine's Hamas government, for possible use against Israeli civilians and soldiers. It's a claim without basis in fact, but not surprising, given the relentless propaganda campaign waged in the western press against the legitimate government of remnant Palestine.
Jon Elmer is a Canadian freelance photojournalist who has lived in and reported from the Occupied Territories. Jon Elmer and separating truths from fiction in media coverage of Palestine in the second segment.
And; Victoria Street Newz publisher and broadcaster, Janine Bandcroft will be here at the bottom of the hour to bring us the latest from Victoria's streets. But first, Damien Gillis and life in election time in B.C.
