Christmas in the City: Nary a Manger for Victoria's Shelterless
written by
Two Nights at City Hall with 100 Knights: Tenters make their presence under the "Christmas" Sequioa at Centennial Square
by Tavis Dodds
I
spent the night of Tuesday November 25th at City Hall in the most recent in a series of encampments or tent villages.  The area was and is infested with a multi-million dollar drug industry, but the campers have shut that down and even prohibit marijuana and alcohol use within their vicinity.

About a dozen people slept there last night in and around four tents, but people came all night to shelter and rest and talk or share their opinions on the issues raised by the campers.  Some hurled insults from the street. At 9am VPD Officer Jamie Pearce paid his second visit to the village, confronting Kristen Woodruff on her way to the only washroom in town.  He was
quite angry and flanked by three angry Commissionaires and the CEO of the DVBA (Downtown Victoria Business Association), the organization responsible for determining our representatives.

Pearce wanted the campers to move onto the pavement because there are to be "5000 people" there for Friday's lighting of the Sequoia Cedar.

"I never heard of the 5000 people coming," Woodruff told the crowd of angry men, to which Pearce said "Johnston knows there's going to be 5000 people, he said so on CBC, if you want to protest then go over here and protest and not deny everyone their Christmas tree.  Or are you protesting the DVBA now?"

Welcome to the modern police state.  The "insurgency" is a part of the system, serving the interests of the security interests we're sacrificing our liberties for.  They have created this insurgency to free up resources and create a reason for a huge surge on Victoria's streets.  This is the arrival of the modern P3, Personal Private Partnership Prisons.  Private corporations get government contracts to wipe out a socio-economic level of society.  It is social cleansing.  It is the Hollocaust.

In the two weeks since the election, increases in private security patrols have gone throught the roof in this town.  Market Square shut off their water fountain, prohibited busking, and increased their presence in the square.  People sitting down in Centennial Square. Countless numbers of people with nothing in their pockets but $100 tickets.

This is the beginning of the Graham Pharaocy, and we have seen it before in BC. We saw it in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside where the "Civil City Initiative" met the Safe Streets Act, and we saw it when Graham tried to cover up the Dziekanski tasering or the police brutalities Pivot represented, or the cover up of dumping a First Nations man in an alley who died.

On the cover of the Times Colonialist of the 25th, right on the fold, there is an obvious deception: "retirement".  Graham was "fired", and now this Gun Happy Cowboy has come to join the Victoria circus Gong Show.
