Well it's situation normal, if just more so, in Occupied Palestine with Israel's embargo of power, food, medicines, and the other necessities of life clamping down even more tightly. The U.N. and others too have chortled and chided against renegade Israel's profligate law-breaking and its heinous disregard for human life and decency to no effect, as usual.

It seems more than ever, the currently headless, and ever borderless "state" of Israel is determined to exterminate finally the people imprisoned in remnant Palestine, and there's no better opportunity for an undetected pogrom than the Christmas season. That Israel is entering into its own election season is also significant. Jon Elmer is a Canadian photo-journalist who has lived in, and reported from Occupied Palestine. In addition to his work appearing in numerous web publications, he is the creator of the web news sites, fromoccupiedpalestine.org and Jon Elmer.org. Jon Elmer in the first segment.
And; is Canada a policed, or a police state? That was the first question my high school law teacher asked we peach-skinned youngsters so long ago, and while then the question was clearly rhetorical, can we afford now to blithely accept the assumption this country is a fully functional liberal democracy? Christopher Parsons is a member of the New Transparency Project, exploring privacy and surveillance issues, and is a PhD student at UVic's department of political science. He's recently written about Ontario's attempts to introduce "enhanced" driving licenses that could include biometric and tracking technologies. Christopher Parsons and getting behind the wheel with Big Brother in the second half.
And; Janine Bandcroft will join us at the bottom of the hour to bring us up to speed with some of Victoria's good, and otherwise, goings on. But first, Jon Elmer and one-step from starving in Gaza.
