Victoria Municipal Elections: Candidates Speak!
written by Press Release

Victoria Municipal Candidates Information
by Kristen Woodruff (Mayoral candidate)

Greetings;  Just wanted to say that if the inspiration so moves you, I could use some help getting the word out about electionsvictoria.ca--the sight now features a video of a complete all-candidates' meeting. Any methods that you think of would be appreciated. I think the public is at a loss about who to vote for and seeing the footage of all the candidates in action would help.

So--if the inspiration so moves you, any basic signs or posters with electionsvictoria.ca would be good. Let anyone else know--a kind of massive public advertising event, using whatever means we are all individually inspired to use (keeping, as ever, within the bounds of what is legal).

Some suggestions:

--sidewalk chalk
--writing on recycled paper and placing signs on bulletin boards and the like
--writing on old boards, old election signs, discarded pieces of plastic, and depositing these
signs in public places--follow the lead of the other electoral signs; generally speaking, wherever
the other candidates have signs is a legal sign place for electionsvictoria.ca
--standing on street corners holding cardboard signs with electionsvictoria.ca on them
--performing assorted musical, dance, or theatrical events in public places (malls, streetcorners,
library courtyards, and the like), while displaying electionsvictoria.ca in an obvious place.
--put electionsvictoria.ca onto scrap pieces of paper, cardboard, and the like and pass these bits of
paper to people in public, as if one were passing notes in class. (psst..electionsvictoria.ca)
--find a cardboard box, write electionsvictoria.ca on it, and then wear the box like a dress and/or suit
of armour and walk/run/dance around town while wearing it. (cut holes in front of the box and behind and
attach string as 'straps' for this makeshift dress)
--tap the reserves of your imagination to find other modes of publicizing the websight.

At this point it is less a matter of electing me than of informing the public about what really goes on in an all-candidates'
meeting. If anyone wants to add Woodruff to their sign or event, go for it (I authorize you to do this), but I don't care if you don't, and, indeed, it doesn't matter to me if you think I am the best candidate or not. Even if you don't support me, electionsvictoria.ca shows an uncut all-candidates meeting, so gives a view of all the mayoral candidates.

Also, if anyone has an extra sleeping bag lying around, I could use one.

towards harmony,
Kristen Woodruff
