The Durham/López Campaign will hit the Streets on May Day!

May Day greetings from the Freedom Socialist Party 2012 Presidential Campaign! On this international working-class holiday, we celebrate a day in recent years given new life and power by Latino immigrant workers.
 
FSP presidential candidate Stephen Durham will be speaking at the Los Angeles Southern California Immigration Coalition Rally, demanding opening the borders and an end to deportations.
 
Vice presidential candidate Christina López will march and campaign in Seattle, and teams will fire up other cities as well, including May Day events sponsored by Occupy movement activists.

Durham/López Campaign May Day Opportunities (all events on Tuesday, May 1)

CALIFORNIA

Los Angeles: 3pm, Meet us at the intersection of Olympic and Broadway,  gathering with the Southern California Immigration Coalition. 4pm march leaves. 5pm, meet at Durham/López literature booth at 1st and Broadway. Stephen Durham will speak at the City Hall rally that concludes the march If you want to help call 323-479-0960.

Oakland: 3pm, Community March for Dignity and Resistance Meet at Fruitvale BART station at 3pm and march to San Antonio Park (Foothill Boulevard, between 16th and 18th) and then converge in downtown Oakland.

Sacramento: 3pm, Meet at Southside Park, 2115 6th St, in Downtown Sacramento, march at 4pm to the Capitol for a rally at 5pm. Join Peace and Freedom Party activists and others in solidarity with janitors in SEIU United Service Workers West (USWW), whose bargaining committee may call a May 1st strike if contractors' final offer fails to provide dignified wages, affordable health care, and respect for immigrant communities.

New York City: 1pm, Meet at Bryant Park for the Pop-up Occupation. Gather in the northeast corner of the lawn and march from Bryant Park to Union Square for the May 1st Coalition rally at 2pm, be there until 5:30, and then march to Wall Street. Call  206-351-9623 for more info.

OREGON

Portland: 9am, meet at Woodlawn Park (NE Dekum and 13th Ave.) to help leaflet at Land Liberation & Space Reclamation, sponsored by the Portland Liberation Organizing Council. Part land reclamation, part block party. Look for the FSP Write-In Campaign picket signs and talk to folks about this exciting protest vote!
