titles are: 'A Million Futures,' 'Sailing Away from Winter,' 'Sniffing

Greatest Books. Silver Donald Cameron's latest venture is

And; almost everyone can talk a good green game, but what happens when
it comes to following up the palaver?
OUR Ecovillage is where the
bicycle rubber meets the bike trail. A 25 acre sustainable living
demonstration site and education centre, located in Shawnigan Lake, just
up the road from Victoria, OUR Ecovillage has been living the green
dream, while training countless others in the ways of living they can
employ to lessen their load on the environment. From food security and
alternative building models, to teaching people how to live and work
cooperatively, the project emphasizes it is; "by community, for
community, through community." It all sounds ideal; but, there's a
problem in paradise.
Brandy Gallagher is co-founder and
developer of OUR Ecovillage, and is a member of TOPIA, The Sustainable
Learning Community Institute. Brandy Gallagher and saving a village to
save US in the second half.
And; Victoria Street Newz publisher
and CFUV broadcaster,
Janine Bandcroft will join us from up in the
beautiful Cowichan Valley environs at the bottom of the hour to bring us
up to speed with some of the stories from our city's streets and beyond
occurring over the past week. But first, Silver Donald Cameron and the
Green Interview; conversations with people, and encounters with ideas
that are re-inventing the World.
Welcome to GR, etc. Canada, a once globally respected voice for peace, reasoned international relations, and environmental responsibility, is today widely reviled by those dedicated to maintaining the principles the current ruling structure has abandoned. Canadians, as represented by Stephen Harper at last month's Durban Climate Conference, or COP17, received the dubious distinction of half a dozen "fossil of the day" awards, and the Climate Action Network's premier recognition, the "Colossal Fossil of the Year Award" for reneging on its Kyoto Protocols ratification, and its efforts to obstruct positive measures by smaller nations to address global climate change.
After receiving the "award" for Canada, Nunavut teen, Jason Konek advised Mr. Harper; "I think the important part of this is for the Canadian government to see that we have been given this award, and they should be embarrassed. We need to do something about climate change not only for aboriginal people, but for the whole country." Mr. Harper has responded by announcing a five-fold expansion of the Tar Sands, and support for a massive pipeline project to transport processed bitumen through the valleys and forests of British Columbia, to be loaded on tankers destined for China and California.
