Vancouver & Victoria: Dismantling Empire with Derrick Jensen
written by Press Release

Dismantling Empire with Derrick Jensen: Questions and answers about deep green resistance and fighting to win
Derrick Jensen
Award-winning author Derrick Jensen would consider the label "uncivilized" a compliment. But then, he's not your garden-variety California environmentalist.

The author of Endgame and A Language Older Than Words is a vehement anti-capitalist and outspoken anti-authoritarian, but he refuses to be categorized as either an anarchist or a socialist.

Jensen's latest collaboration is Deep Green Resistance. The book began as a series of workshops and developed into a movement that challenges mainstream environmentalists to drop the silly stunts and take up decisive tactics.

"This book is about fighting back. And this book is about winning."

– Derrick Jensen, in the preface to Deep Green Resistance

out what it really means, and why so many wear it with pride.

Derrick to answer. Bonus points for questions about Deep Green
Resistance and dismantling empire.

Jensen is celebrated as the philosopher-poet of the radical
environmental movement. He is the author of Language Older Than Words,
Endgame, and the collaboration Deep Green Resistance.

The event is a benefit for Alexandra Morton's group Salmon Are Sacred
and the Wild Coast Action Team, which helped save Juan de Fuca Park
from development last year. Please give what you can.
