London Into the Streets Tonight in Protest of Threatening War Against Iran
written by Press Release

First Major 'Don't Attack Iran' Rally in Central London Tonight (Dec. 5th, 2011)
by STOP THE WAR COALITION
As the West ratchets up the tension with Iran and the threat of war grows, tonight the Stop the War Coalition is organising its first major 'Don't Attack Iran' rally in central London.

Speakers include Abbas Edalat from the Campaign Against Sanctions and Military intervention, Tony Benn, George Galloway, Lindsey German and Iranian researcher Shirin Shafaie.

The meeting is the first event in a campaign against military intervention in Iran, which will roll out across the country in the New Year.

Stop the War's Lindsey German said:

'Events are all too familiar: claims about weapons of mass destruction, the demonisation of the regime, tightening sanctions, special forces operations in the country. All this against a background of growing tension across the Middle East. The anti war movement now needs to commit to a national effort to stop Britain being dragged in to yet another disastrous war.'
