Support Free Speech Activists

The three activists that have been sued in a SLAPP suit by Canwest, Mordecai Briemberg,Carol Moisiewich and Gordon Murray, plus several Jane and John Does, are coming to Victoria to raise support for their case.
They have been charged with "conspiracy to produce and distribute " a Vancouver Sun parody, the 'Vancouver Scum.'
In this direct attack on freedom of expression, these activists are
being sued for a four page parody of the sun's well known bias for the
illegal occupation of Palestine territories.
In fact the media giant's
founder, Izzy Asper, has boasted that;
- "In all our newspapers ...we have
a very pro-Israeli position... we are the strongest supporter of Israel
in Canada."
As a result, Canwest is attempting to bully and silence
criticism [of racist Israel].
This event is a free presentation at the BGEU HQ at 2994 Douglas St,
in Victoria at 7 p.m. on September 19.
