Much Respect to the Mighty Sha! United States Marine Corps. Sgt. Shamar Thomas Schools NYPD on Police Brutality: “These Are Peaceful US Citizens! There Is No Honor In This!”
by David DeGraw l AmpedStatus
The Mighty Sha, as I affectionately call him, has a new video, which is going viral as we type, featuring his verbal schooling of the NYPD in defense of the #OWS movement concerning police brutality against peaceful protesters. Shamar has been on the frontlines witnessing police assaults several times.

He was with us last week when the police unleashed pepper-spray and wildly swung their batons around during a protest that was blocked off from Wall Street.

We will post some great footage of him standing in uniform holding up his hand in a peace sign, with the American flag blowing behind him, seconds before the police unleashed their assault.

At the time, I thought I was very lucky to not be arrested. Now I realize, the reason I wasn’t was most likely because The Mighty Sha was directly to my right. So many amazing moments happening so often within this movement – awe inspiring!

From the video description: United States Marine Corps. Sgt. Shamar Thomas from Roosevelt, NY went toe to toe with the New York Police Department. An activist in the Occupy Wall Street movement, Thomas voiced his opinions of the NYPD police brutality that had and has been plaguing the #OWS movement.

Thomas is a 24-year-old Marine Veteran (2 tours in Iraq), he currently plays amateur football and is in college. Thomas comes from a long line of people who sacrifice for their country: Mother, Army Veteran (Iraq), Step father, Army, active duty (Afghanistan), Grand father, Air Force veteran (Vietnam), Great Grand Father Navy veteran (World War II).
